National Night Out

About the Program

In 1984, the introduction of National Night Out, "America's Night Out Against Crime", began as an effort to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organizing and fighting back
National Night Out now involves more than 37.8 million people and 16,124 communities from all fifty states, U.S. Territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide.

About the Event

The 2017 National Night Out will take place on Saturday, Aug. 5 at O’Brien Park, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This FREE event will feature some of the Parker Police Department's greatest crime fighting tools including the Mounted Patrol, K-9 Unit, SWAT team, CSI Units and Neighborhood Services. Community members will have the chance to ask questions, receive fun giveaway items and take a peek at some of the specialized vehicles and equipment.
At dusk there will be a showing of "Zootopia," sponsored by the Parker Chamber.
