Phone Scam Pretending to be Parker Police

Man on cell phone

We have received a couple of calls from residents who received phone calls from individuals claiming to be Parker Police Officers asking for money. They give fake names and badge numbers in an attempt to legitimize their scam. They are able to mask their phone number and make it appear to caller ID that the call is coming from the Parker Police Department.

We DO NOT call people, we DO NOT collect fines over the phone and giving them money will not keep you out of jail…it will just make you out of money.

Whether it’s someone claiming to be the Parker Police Department, IRS or a jail, none of us collect money over the phone via iTunes cards, Visa gift cards or any other manner that seems suspect.

If you receive this phone call, or any other call that seems like a scam, don’t give them any information or money and hang up.
