Sexual Assault on a Child Suspect Arrested

The Parker Police Department arrested 25-year-old Caleb Morrison Smith in Denver this morning, May 4. Smith had an active arrest warrant for the following charges:

• Sexual Assault on a Child-Pattern of Abuse

• Internet Luring of a Child with Intent to Exploit

• Internet Sexual Exploitation of a Child

• Unlawful Distribution/Sale/Dispense/Transfer of a Schedule 1 or 2 Controlled Substance to a Minor

• Unlawful Distribution/Sale/Transfer of One Ounce or Less of Marijuana to a Minor

• Habitual Sex Offender

• Habitual Offender

The Parker Police Department received a tip on April 26, 2023, alleging Smith was luring a 14-year-old female online. The information shared with detectives stated Smith had been in communication with and consistently meeting with the child victim since November of 2022. Smith, a registered sex offender, was reportedly taking the victim to his home in Louviers, CO.

The Parker Police Department is a member of the national Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which is funded by a grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Parents are reminded to monitor their children’s online activity.

A charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
