1. How do I hire off-duty police for an event?

Off Duty Rate Schedule (standard, short-notice, holiday and traffic control)

Effective January 1, 2020, the standard hourly rate for contracted off duty Parker Police Officers is $65.00 per hour, per officer, with a 3-hour minimum per officer.  In the event that the Police Services provided by the Officers exceed three (3) hours, the Contractor will be invoiced for the additional amount at $65.00 per hour, as described in Paragraph 3 of the Agreement.

For short-notice requests (less than 72 hours’ notice), the hourly rate will be $79.00 per hour, per officer, with a 3-hour minimum per officer.  In the event that the Police Services provided by the Officers exceed three (3) hours, the Contractor will be invoiced for the additional amount at $79.00 per hour, as described in Paragraph 3 of the Agreement.

The holiday rate (Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day) will be $75.00 per hour, per officer, with a 3-hour minimum per officer.  In the event that the Police Services provided by the Officers exceed three (3) hours, the Contractor will be invoiced for the additional amount at $75.00 per hour, as described in Paragraph 3 of the Agreement.  

Off duty Officers will also be available for traffic control at an hourly rate of $75.00 per hour, per officer, with a 3-hour minimum per officer.  In the event that the Police Services provided by the Officers exceed three (3) hours, the Contractor will be invoiced for the additional amount at $75.00 per hour.

A marked police vehicle will be provided to the Officer(s) at no additional charge to the Contractor for all of the above services.

Cancellation of Police Services must be received within five (5) working days prior to the start of the Police Services.  If cancellation is not received within five (5) working days, the Contractor will be billed for three (3) hours for each Officer using the Rate Schedule.

3. Is there a curfew law in Parker?

The Town of Parker Police Department enforces a curfew law. For the safety of our children, please be sure that your children are not out after midnight or before 5 a.m. any morning, unless they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, under lawful employment, with a person 18 or older and who has a written consent of parent or guardian in their possession or engaged in religious or civic activities.

4. Does my dog or cat need to be licensed in the Town of Parker?

Dogs and cats in Parker no longer need to have a license issued by the Town. However, an ID tag is required to be on the dog or cat at all times.
